Peoples Diplomacy, Environmental Governance and Self-Determination Delegation

June 17th-21st, 2024

This delegation built on previous international delegations the IPTP has supported and will bring social leaders, educators, peace activists, and land defenders from Colombia to Robinson Huron Treaty Territory/Baawaating, Algoma University, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. This delegation included significant learning opportunities for students, staff, faculty, and the broader community, as well as relationship-building and governance dialogues/exchanges involving local First Nations in the Robinson Huron Treaty Territory. There was an emphasis on women’s roles in peace-building, leadership as well as efforts that set out to address gendered and colonial violence in Canada, Colombia, and Bolivia.
